Technology Overview
SeaVolt™ is an advanced on-site electrochlorination system that produces 0.2% sodium hypochlorite (2,000 ppm) directly from seawater through controlled electrolysis. Built for marine, offshore, and coastal applications, SeaVolt™ provides a reliable, low-maintenance, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional chlorine dosing systems—eliminating the need for bulk chemicals or hazardous transport.
Reaction mechanism:
The direct current, passing through the seawater or brine flowing in the electrolyzer, where the sodium chloride is completely dissociated into the ions Na+ and Cl-, causes the following electrochemical and chemical reactions:
NaCl + H2O + 2e = NaOCl + H2
