BrinEx™
On-Site Sodium Hypochlorite Generation System
Safe. Simple. Sustainable.
Technology Overview
BrinEx™ is an advanced on-site disinfection system that uses electrolysis of brine (saltwater) to generate 0.8–1.0% sodium hypochlorite (8,000–10,000 ppm). This low-concentration bleach is ideal for safe, effective, and reliable disinfection in municipal, industrial, and commercial water systems. BrinEx™ minimizes the need for bulk chemical storage and transport, enhancing operational safety and sustainability.
By generating disinfectant on demand, BrinEx™ significantly reduces the reliance on bulk chemical storage and transport, thereby improving operational safety and promoting sustainable practices. Together, these technologies offer a streamlined and environmentally responsible approach to water system disinfection.

Technology Value Proposition
BrinEx™ deliver a cutting-edge, on-site disinfection solution that transforms saltwater into a precisely controlled sodium hypochlorite disinfectant, eliminating the need for hazardous chemical deliveries and storage. This innovation enhances safety for personnel and facilities while ensuring consistent, high-performance microbial control.
By producing disinfectant on demand at low concentration levels, these systems provide cost-effective, scalable, and environmentally sustainable water treatment options ideal for municipal, industrial, and commercial sectors. The integrated approach minimizes operational risks, reduces environmental footprint, and streamlines water system management—empowering operators with reliable, efficient, and responsible disinfection technology.
Electrode Material:
BrinEx™ utilizes high-grade titanium electrodes coated with mixed metal oxides (MMO) to ensure superior durability, corrosion resistance, and long service life during the electrolysis of brine. The MMO coating provides excellent catalytic activity for chlorine generation while maintaining chemical stability in harsh saline environments, optimizing system efficiency and reducing maintenance requirements.
Power Consumption:
The BrinEx™ system is designed for energy-efficient operation, with typical power consumption in the range of 3.5 to 5.0 kWh per kilogram of available chlorine produced. This efficient energy use contributes to lower operational costs and supports sustainable water treatment practices, making BrinEx™ a cost-effective choice for continuous on-site sodium hypochlorite generation.
Hydrogen Production Control
During the electrolysis of brine in the BrinEx™ system, hydrogen gas is naturally generated as a byproduct at the cathode. To ensure safe and efficient operation, BrinEx™ incorporates several design and operational features to control and manage hydrogen production:
- Optimized Current Density: By maintaining current density within the optimal range (typically 3,000 to 4,500 A/m²), BrinEx™ limits excessive hydrogen evolution, balancing efficient sodium hypochlorite generation with minimal gas production.
- Advanced Electrode Design: The MMO-coated titanium electrodes promote selective chlorine production while reducing side reactions that increase hydrogen output.
- Gas Separation and Venting: The system includes built-in gas separation chambers and dedicated venting pathways to safely capture and remove hydrogen gas, preventing buildup and minimizing explosion risk.
- Automated Monitoring and Control: Sensors continuously monitor hydrogen concentration and system parameters, allowing real-time adjustments to operating conditions and ensuring safe, compliant operation.
These measures ensure that hydrogen generation is safely managed, maintaining operational safety without compromising system efficiency or disinfectant quality
